What You Can Do!

1. Attend the Piedmont Avenue Neighborhood Improvement League (PANIL) meeting and express your concerns at Bar Egbert Souse and it's effect on Piedmont Avenue's safety. PANIL is a group of local residents working together to improve the community, and are actively trying to come up with solutions to the Egbert Souse issue: http://www.panil.org. They have monthly meetings. Contact Patricia Rose for more info: prose@oaklandnet.com
2. Contact the community Public Safety Officer/Problem Solving Officer (PSO), who can help come up with a plan for how to effectively advocate on Piedmont Avenue's behalf to make Bar Egbert Souses close or improve safety for Piedmont Avenue (he may have ideas for how to approach city council about the issue): communitypolicingbeat9@oaklandnet.com 238-3154 ext. 4814
3. CALL THE OAKLAND POLICE and DOCUMENT YOUR CALL! - From a LandLine Call 911 -- if on your cell call the Oakland Police 911 number (510) 777-3211 because 911 from Cell phones go to the CA Highway patrol. When you hear or see aruging, fighting, etc. call 911 ASAP.

When you hear or see suspicious activities at Egbert Souse on Piemont Avenue such as drug use or public drunkenness, etc. or hear loud cars, motorcycles, music, etc. call the Oakland Police non-emergency number at (510) 777-3333.

FOR ALL CALLS TO THE OAKLAND POLICE:
1) Spell out "E-g-b-e-r-t" "space" "S-o-u-s-e"
2) Ask for incident number
3) Ask for Oakland 911 dispatchers number
4) Document all of this information... as often the OPD will report they did not get any calls regarding Egbert Souse. We need proof!
